Hey my name is Hillary! Growing up on a dairy farm, I have never been a stranger to hard work or physical activity. I was an athlete from early on and have participated in sports for my entire life including running, basketball, and martial arts being her favorites. While in college, I joined the judo team, and began to discover a passion for human movement.
After graduating college at IA State, me and my husband moved from the Midwest to California. Shortly after this move I broke my collarbone in a judo practice and started to focus more on weightlifting. Once that healed, I went to my first CrossFit class with my sister. It was love at first sight. Six months later I trained to get my CFL1 and began coaching CrossFit classes at local gyms.
In the years since, I have continued to grow as a coach and as a teacher, also obtaining my CFL2 in 2020. After 8+ years in CA, my husband and I moved our family back to the midwest in mid 2020 to be closer to family. We landed in Rochester, joined CrossFit Credence, and the rest is history!
Hillary instructs her classes and individual sessions with a strong emphasis on quality of movement. A lift done perfectly at a light weight is far more impressive than a record setting lift done sloppily. While she prefers Olympic lifting and HIIT style workouts, she firmly believes that the best type of exercise is the one you’ll do on a regular basis. We are so excited to have her
When not in the gym, Hillary really enjoys trail running, horseback riding, spending time with her kids, reading, and learning new things.
